An inspiring write-up of the quest to get the multimedia keys on a 20 year-old laptop working under Linux. I don't really know C and I definitely don't know anything about kernel development, but I could follow this and I immediately felt encouraged to undertake something similar.

Knowing myself this feeling will wear off in a day or two. Fortunately. Hopefully it will happen before I dug up all my old laptops.
